The 1975 - Mode of Address

The 1975 very rarely appear as a group during interviews, and lead-singer Matt Healy receives the most attention during press events as he is the front runner of the band. During his interviews Matt is incredibly relaxed and polite, and acts humble when complimented about his songs. Furthermore, he is the complete opposite of his stage persona. During live performances, Healy is often quite theatrical and exaggerates his personality. However during 1-to-1 interviews, he is quite calm and collected. In doing this it allows us to see how serious he is about his music, as he isn't overly melodramatic when promoting his band, and emphasises how much he enjoys performing. When asked about the production of his new album, Healy talks enthusiastically about the process and goes into detail about what influenced their decisions. This enthusiasm emphasises the amount of hard work and passion that goes into their music, thus making the band seem genuine and dedicated to their work.
