The 1975 dress quite casually and usually wear black skinny jeans, black or white t-shirts and leather jackets, following a 70s vibe with a modern twists. During their music videos or live performances, the band like to wear clothing that represent cliches of rock artists as an ironic joke. For example in the video for 'Love Me', Matt Healy wheres leather trousers whilst topless as a parody of frontmen from rock bands. This emphasises the band's entertaining, humorous nature and associates the group with acts such as Queen or David Bowie, indicating that their performance's are often surpising and unique.
